Indicator Mesh is a bright coloured red extruded plastic mesh used on bridge decks to indicate and protect the waterproof membrane. The plastic mesh acts as an ideal visual indicator. The mesh is installed over a layer of sand asphalt or a fine binder course which has been laid over the bridge decks waterproof membrane.  Above the Indicator net, a further binder course is laid above before the bridge surface course is laid.

Indicator mesh is the perfect cost effective alternative to other depth indicator techniques including red sand asphalt.  Upon future resurfacing, planning or repairs to the bridges surface, the indicator mesh acts as clear indicator and warning that the waterproof membrane is below.
