GrassProtecta™ grass reinforcement mesh is a thick heavy duty plastic polyethylene mesh for grass reinforcement. The new oscillated mesh structure has been designed to add extra slip resistance when compared against the standard straight mesh filament grass protection meshes. GrassProtecta™ grass reinforcement mesh is designed for grass surfaces prone to damage, wear, rutting and becoming muddy particularly in wet conditions caused by cars, vans, trucks and heavy pedestrian applications. Boddingtons Australia's new GrassProtecta™ oscillated mesh structure is designed to increase traction and improve slip resistance by up to 97% compared to standard straight oriented meshes. New GrassProtecta™ grass reinforcement mesh is supplied on 2m x 20m & 1m x 10m rolls in two thicknesses (11mm & 14mm) as determined by the application and manufactured from partly recycled UV stabilised high density polyethylene (Approx 20% recycled polymer)

Installation of GrassProtecta™ is simple; After mowing / cutting the grass short, the reinforcement net mesh is unrolled and fixed to the existing grass surface using either metal U-Pins or plastic pegs. GrassProtecta™ grass protection mesh allows the grass to grow through the plastic mesh apertures, allowing the grass sward to intertwine with the plastic mesh filaments. This helps create a strong reinforced grass surface capable of withstanding vehicle loads (cars & trucks), limiting damage and reducing soil compaction and becomes invisible from view once the grass has fully grown through. GrassProtecta™ grass stabilisation mesh can alternately be installed onto newly landscaped areas before seeding. Boddingtons Australia advise that newly installed GrassProtecta™ slip resistant grass surfaces should be left cordoned off from the public until the grass has grown through the plastic net apertures, thus creating a strong interlock between the plastic mesh and the grass sward – normally a few weeks during the growing season is acceptable but this will be dependant on growing rates and the season. If the surface is used immediately grass growth may take a longer period of time due to early wear before the grass has been reinforced.

GrassProtecta™ can be used in Source Control applications as part of Sustainable Urban Drainage System. It is a greener alternative to impermeable paved surfaces where natural grassed traffic routes and driveways are preferred or where planning restrictions apply and particularly where cost savings are being considered.

Please note that with all plastic products, the product can become slippery on damp or wet conditions if used before any grass has grown.

parking and heavy pedestrian use, GrassProtecta™ Grass Protection Mesh would be the
ideal solution, but turf reinforcement mesh may also be suitable. We can also offer our
