Bodpave™ Grass Paving Grids

Bodpave™ grass paving grids are an interlocking recycled plastic grid system for reinforceing and stabilising grass that for use with regular pedestrian and vehicle use. Bodpave™ grass pavers should be installed on a firm well drained base to provide a high level of reinforcement. Bodpave™ grass paving grids can be filled with a mixture of soil / sand and seed or can be turfed for a natural grassed finished, or can be filled with gravel too give a decorative finish which is ideal for gravel driveways and access roads..

Bodpave™ grass pavers provides a visually pleasant and stable surface structure through which grass can be grown. The paving grid systems open honeycomb cells allow unrestricted grass growth whilst allowing full drainage. The product is 40mm thick and will almost dissapear beneath the surface after just a few months of the grass growing season.

Bodpave™ paving is the ideal grass stabiliser and grass reinforcement system for grass car parks, overspill car parks, grass pathswheelchair access routes, fire service access routes and other emergency access routes. Ideal for areas that currently suffer from wear causing erosion and damage to the grass surface, and where natural grass surface is required.

• The grass pavers resists deformation and fracture
• Quick and easy to install (no excavation or pegging - Pavers connect to each other)
• Ideal for overflow car parks, drives, paths and cycle routes.
• Produced from 100% recycled polyethylene
• 500 x 500 x 40mm - 4 pavers

Bodpave™ grass protection paving system is an ideal grass protection system for vehicle traffic. Bodpave™ grass paving grids will not compensate for poor underlying ground conditions where more structural solutions are necessary.

Installation guidelines

For full installation instructions, please contact us forr guidelines on the exact installation required to meet your needs. If firm, well drained ground conditions exist and the Bodpave™ is required for light vehicle and pedestrian use only and where budget limitations or restrictions on excavation apply it maybe possible to use the Bodpave™ Quick Install method as stated below. Requirements for heavier loads will require a deeper gravel bedding.

Bodpave grass paver installation

Quick install – grassed finish

  1. Where required, remove the turf layer and topsoil to a depth of approx 75mm + and dispose of all the waste material
  2. Level the formation layer and lightly consolidate. Install edge retaining boards or kerbs as required
  3. Place a layer of Boddingtons stabilisation mesh or geogrid on the formation layer and ensure that it is flat to the surface.
  4. Place a thick layer (thickness dependant on ground conditions - minimum 75mm) of 4-14mm diameter gravel or crushed aggregate evenly over the geogrid. The geogrid must not be allowed to become exposed above the gravel layer. A geotextile layer could be laid to separate the bedding gravel from the paving grid.
  5. Place the Bodpave™ grass pavers onto the gravel layer and fit the ground pegs that are moulded to the grid through the next grids loops.
  6. Continue connecting the pavers progressing over the area in rows.
  7. Pavers can be cut, using a power saw or by hand using a hack saw to fit around obstructions.
  8. Firm the pavers in place in place. E.g. A whacker plate.
  9. Fill the pavers to within 7-10mm of the top of the cells with free-draining sand / soil or sand / compost (60:40) proprietry root zone blend. Do not fill the grass pavers to the top or over-fill. *
  10. Apply the selected seed mix and an appropriate fertiliser. Thin cut turf can be rolled into the surface if required.
  11. The surface may be used immediately, but it is preferable to allow the grass to establish prior to use, as this assists in stabilsing the ground for future use.

*Points 9 - 11 can be changed so that the grids are filed with gravel if required.
